HWA AG: Generational Change on the Supervisory Board

Affalterbach, June 27, 2025 – This year’s Annual General Meeting included the regular elections for the Supervisory Board. The previous board was shaped by company founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board Hans Werner Aufrecht and Deputy Chairman Willibald Dörflinger. Both had served on HWA AG’s Supervisory Board since 2007 and together control more than 75% of the company’s shares.
After nearly two decades on the Supervisory Board, both shareholders decided to completely restructure the board. As the company’s principal shareholders, however, Hans Werner Aufrecht and Willibald Dörflinger will remain closely connected to HWA AG.
“We would like to sincerely thank Mr. Aufrecht and Mr. Dörflinger for their many years on the Supervisory Board. Both consistently supported the Management Board not only during official meetings, but also through their advice and personal commitment. Their close cooperation has been of tremendous importance to us and will continue to shape our daily work at HWA AG,” said Martin Marx and Gordian von Schöning.
As founder of HWA AG, Hans Werner Aufrecht will continue to play an important role within the company going forward. Willibald Dörflinger, meanwhile, sees his future involvement primarily as an active supporter and investor without an official corporate function.
The Management Board also expressly thanked the departing Supervisory Board members Simone Stegmaier, Gert-Jan Bruggink, Klemens Große-Vehne and Hussain Ahmad Al-Siddiqi for their commitment and contribution to HWA AG.
The Annual General Meeting elected Dr. Georg Riedl, Prof. Dr. Peter Schöggl, Mag. Anton Schantl, Tarek Khalifa and Christoph Rendlen to the Supervisory Board. During the subsequent constitutive meeting, Dr. Georg Riedl was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board, while Prof. Dr. Peter Schöggl was appointed Deputy Chairman.
With the newly appointed Supervisory Board, HWA AG gains a significantly younger board with an ideal mix of expertise tailored to the company’s future direction.
